Street Preaching in Seattle, WA USA

Future Plans 2018

There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel – that will stand. Proverbs 19:21

It is a brand new year and what will it bring? This will be the first time in awhile I do not have my winter calendar already filled with tentative dates and places. At this point I believe I am finished traveling the country in a van. If I were to go anywhere outside of the West Coast I imagine I would fly. After traveling across the country several times the state of California actually seems to be very manageable geographically. I may spend most of the year here on a circuit. After all it is the largest state in the Union and has the overall best weather year round. Los Angeles is the second largest city in the US in which I have barely made a dent in it. My usual summer trips to Washington State & Oregon are also probable.

If our good Lord would allow me, I do plan to go to Alaska in the summer of 2018. This trip would be a priority with a twofold purpose. I will visit my two sons and their respective families including my first only grandson, Dylan. He is about six months old and I have yet to see him in person. The other agenda is to preach in both Juneau (where my sons reside) and Anchorage, Alaska. Juneau is the capitol and I have evangelized there before many years ago, but have never done any street preaching. Also Anchorage is the largest city in Alaska at somewhere over 200,000. Both cities swell with tourists in the summer as well. It is a popular place for outdoor vacations and in recent years cruise ships. At this point July is the target date.

Other trips that seem so far reality at this point are as follows: Honolulu, Hawaii -Washington DC – New York City – Philadelphia – Chicago

  1. Greetings Brother Larry!

I hope all is well with you. It sounds like you are keeping yourself busy. I’ve been going through some health issues. I’ve stopped going downtown but continue preaching at the Care Center & Prison. Pastor Phil was sick so Kevin Bailey preached the 1st service & I the 2nd.

Because of my polio from childhood I have what is called “Post Polio Syndrome” (PPS). A few months ago, after waking up, I realized a loss of strength in my right arm which is where polio affected me the most. What strength I had from my elbow to my shoulder is gone completely. My doctor, a neurologist & neurosurgeon diagnosed me as having PPS. 2 months after this, My sleep, energy, wind took a big hit. The lack of use in my right arm was not that big a deal. Its those other factors that’s more difficult to deal with. I’ve learned that PPS mirrors Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I can testify to that. I was surprised that, according to the CDC, 25-40% of those who had childhood polio will contract PPS. In my study of PPS, I learned that there will be periods where there is no change and periods of further decline. Well, I just wanted to catch you up on this health issue. It isn’t something that preoccupies my thoughts. I keep busy with eternal things as I know you do. God bless you brother for all the work you’ve done, are doing, and will do. I’m quite capable of hosting you this spring if you decide to come. Well, I’m going to prison tonight (and I haven’t even committed a crime!). I’m doing a series on “The Gospel.”

    In Christ, John Payne
